2023 BUICK ENCORE GX FLAT TOW

The Demco DUO stay and go is draining my car battery since there appears to be an issue with how to install. The installer (whom I do trust) indicates that Buick makes it difficult. I have met people on the road with the same issue. (I met someone that solved it, but foolishly did not get their name). There has to be a workaround. I just need to know if anyone nows what that is. It's very frustrating because I traded in my Lexus to specifically buy this car as it is flat towable and then Buick makes it so difficult. The dealership (where I am writing from now) "knows nothing" since they don't install anything. They also could give me no advice.

Just bought a 2024 Encore GX AWD to flat tow behind a motorhome. Owners manual says to disconnect Negative Terminal on Battery but reading some other threads, sounds like others are diconnectiong positiive. Interested to know who else is doing this on this forum and which post you disable? Anything else to look out for? Thanks

Did you ever get a response to this or find ou what's draining the battery? Do you have a disconnect on the negative or positive battery terminal? I just bought a 2024 Encore GX AWD to flat tow but I'm still getting it set up so lookign for info.

I would follow the owner's manual, but realistically, since both terminals have to be hooked up in order for current to flow, it won't really matter. Just make sure you don't accidentally cause a short circuit.

I had the same question! Why would it require the negative to be disconnected? It’s not easy to disconnect either one of these posts. The negative is much harder. I will be disconnecting the positive terminal.

That's a very bad idea. Anything metal touches the positive and and at the same time touches anything metal in the engine compartment you will have a violent short.
