A couple of months ago I had to remove the front seat (long story). After replacement I have an OBD2 error saying the passenger side airbag (in the seat?) has an open loop. I assume that would be a bad connection, but I can't see any problem with the connections under the seat. I can't clear the error, so I am assuming that it's a real wiring issue.

Am I missing anything? Is it possible that this is just not an error that can be reset like other can? Airbag light is lit in the instrument display. I am assuming that the front airbag is still operable since the error specifically refers to the side airbag.

Advice?

What is the actual code?

I appreciate the reply. I don't have the car right now. I can respond in perhaps a couple of hours with the code. I can definitely say that it states that the passenger position side airbag has an open loop condition, and it cannot be reset. Acts as if there is an open connection. At the moment, I am mainly wondering if the side airbag may be fully functional with a DTC that is unresettable after the connection is fixed for some sort of safety reason. I think that's unlikely, but I am asking. When I get the car back, I will go under the seat and check the connection again, though I've done that and everything looks normal. I will disconnect and reconnect and run the diagnostics again. I am using an XTOOL Anyscan 2.0 A30M scanner, and the XTOOL software is pretty sophisticated.

DTC Code: B0029-17 RF side deployment loop open

I can reset the DTC, but it immediately errors again. The airbag light goes out and comes back on.
Disconnected yellow connector under seat. Pins look very clean. Wires into plug are not loose or "floppy" meaning they are solid wires and there is no place where it seems as if the conductor is broken inside the insulation. Sprayed it with contact cleaner. No change. Fault still present. If I clear the DTC, it immediately errors again.

I don't see any place in my software to view a signal voltage. My software has an "Air Bag Reset" special function, but it does not function with this car, probably because it is designed to work with a newer car.

I disconnected the short harness (yellow plug) from the harness coming out of the floor and also from the air bag itself. I ohmed out both wires from plug end to plug end and watched as I wiggled the plug wires looking for an intermittent. The resistance was practically zero ohms under all conditions, so the cable itself is good. I'll have to see what sort of voltage or signal should be coming up out of the carpet in that harness.
