The hose ripped and I need to find a replacement. Do you know where one can locate a replacement hose? It's located under the car near the exhaust manifold.

If you need the section bent at 90*, you have a few choices:

Check Rock Auto. They have about as many miscellaneous parts of any of the main stream parts houses.

Visit a bone yard and pluck a good one off of a donor car.

Buy a length of the correct diameter hose, temporarily fill it with sand and heat the hose in the 90* position. Sand will maintain the internal diameter of the hose during heating and bending.

Attach a correct diameter straight hose and position the drain tube in downward tilt, but not so tight as pinch off the flow.

I seem to recall from earlier posts when you first got your LeSabre that you added onto this hose to prevent it from draining right on top of the steering rack. Do you think this extension played a role in the fatigue of this hose fitting?

Thanks for the info!

Yes, I believe the hose extension stressed the OEM hose and caused it to tear. I will try and find a 90 degree rubber hose that will fit onto the factory piece.

Is the factory hose removable from underneath the car? I believe it is only friction fit, no clamps are present.

I’m not sure if it’s reachable from the engine side of the firewall. Judging by the large firewall hole I’d say it’s theoretically possible, so maybe a scope camera will help.

I’ve installed flanged rubber fittings before by wiggling and spinning the seat into the hole. A time or two I’ve used vasaline to help.

You can bet at the factory they preinstalled this piece, ha!
