thermostat torque

what do you torque the two bolts on the thermostat housing for a buick le sabre 2000 ?
 
Who bothers with that? I just wrenched it down and called it good.
 
found online two different torques for the thermostat housing - 89 inch lb and 20 foot lb

Factory Service manual for the 2003 LeSabre (same thing) says 15 lb ft (20 N-m).
 
FWIW: www.alldatadiy.com offers an on-line manual subscription that is very close to the FSM, with the added benefit of providing access to FSBs as well.

11yo post. Doubtful anyone involved still needs this info.
 
Who the heck needs it anyway....just snug them down and if it doesn't leak you're fine.
I should have just done that because I used the 15 ft 180 in spec and I cracked the housing had to go to AZ for a dorman replacement $23

We've all made mistakes when wrenching on our own cars. That's part of the learning process.
