thermostat torque

what do you torque the two bolts on the thermostat housing for a buick le sabre 2000 ?

Who bothers with that? I just wrenched it down and called it good.

found online two different torques for the thermostat housing - 89 inch lb and 20 foot lb

I replaced mine today. I just torqued it down tight and left it at that. And as I don't have a leak, I'm good.

Factory Service manual for the 2003 LeSabre (same thing) says 15 lb ft (20 N-m).

I have the actual book, which is very helpful if you plan to keep your car for awhile.

Who the heck needs it anyway....just snug them down and if it doesn't leak you're fine.

I should have just done that because I used the 15 ft 180 in spec and I cracked the housing had to go to AZ for a dorman replacement $23
