2006 Buick lucern
Hey I take care of my mom and she has an 06 Buick lasabre an the fan seems to only work when it wants to! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?!?! Thanks

Never made a 2006 Lesabre. If its a 2006 it will be a Lucerne. Either way it should have a 4 pin fan relay in the fuse box. Cant tell you location without exact year and model.

Probably a 2005 lesabre. Are you talking about the two engine cooling fans up near the radiator?

Yeah it says 2004 LaSabra! The heater fan comes on an then it will just shut off. Now I can’t get it come on at all, well it did for a minute and went back out!?

Thank you I will look for that! I apologize it is a 2004

Is this a Limited model with the digital climate control where you sent the temperature and it has an "Auto" button?
No it has an Sliding control from left to right!

Do you have a digital readout for the coolant temperature?
Are you talking about the HVAC blower fan or the cooling fans by the radiator?

Yes there is a digital for the coolant temperature.
HVAC the fan that blows cold and hot into the vehicle. I checked the fuses an, I had the car started an the fan inside came on for a few seconds and then went back off.

So you have manual fan controls. Does the fan only come on at the highest speed selected?
Yes it is manual it slides from left to right. It comes on an off just idling

Did you say whether it works with fan all the way on high? It makes a difference. Read the below photo content.

Hey I really appreciate the help from you and everyone else! An I have had it on high/med/low it doesn’t seem to matter, it will go out and sometimes if lucky it will come right back on, but that’s not happening anymore! But yesterday it was a little bit warmer, I was driving an it came on but as soon as I turned it off., I waited bout 30 minutes and nothing… Again I sure do appreciate you!

Have a look at the attached electrical schematic. You have 3 relevant components (manual HVAC control, the speed Control and the blower motor itself) plus 2 grounds which I have numbered 1-5 respectively. If your available time and troubleshooting resources are limited, you're only looking at three components. So, you could try replacing the (3) components one at a time. If I were to 'guess' at the most likely suspect, I would try swapping the HVAC control (with the slides). Of the (3) components, this is the easiest to replace and only requires a #2 Phillips screwdriver (to remove the two top screws in the glove box).

These are available on Ebay: Link
