high voltage issue 98 lesabre

Thank you all for the help, My original reading was closer to 14V then. Tensioner was definitely bad too.
I felt very strongly about this subject because I got stranded on a cold Winter night due to a failing alternator. Of the seven big GM 3800 powered cars that I've owned over the last 20 plus years only this last one had the alternator fail.

......and my own stupidity. The battery warning light came on during my morning commute. I checked the DIC and it said 11.3 volts but I kept on driving and it started charging again after about 5 or 10 minutes. That happened on a Monday. The same thing happened on my Tuesday commute. It finally stranded me on Wednesday night. Moral of the story is DON'T ignore your battery light!!!😳
