My Buick shuts off

Are you aware that the vehicle has the Start Stop function meaning when you come to a stop at a light the engine will shut off and restart when you release the brake pedal and step on the gas pedal?

OP: Are you saying it just shuts off when you're just driving along (still moving), or when you drive then stop? When you say 'parked', is the gear selector in Park or in Drive?

If it's in Park, it should stay running. If you're moving, it should stay running. If you're in Drive and stopped, the auto Start/Stop may kick in. Not every time necessarily, but it's meant to when conditions are right (engine warmed up, battery has enough charge, etc.). You can disable it per trip with a button on the 2020, I believe. 2019 had no 'official' option to disable it. IMHO, it's annoying as hell, increases wear to the starter and engine, and adds very little savings to gas mileage.
