Does anyone know what the small cable going from the negative battery terminal is?

Im trying to figure out if some of the issues I have been having are related to a grounding or wire issue and I noticed that the small wire going from the negative battery terminal looks like its almost fried, the outer coating is completely stripped so its just the bare thin metal wire and it looks corroded in some spots but I have no idea where it goes ect.

Bingo, if you are having electrical issues with anything that depends on chassis ground. That wire needs to be replaced with a larger wire! Follow the wire to the chassis ground terminal & clean any contact surface before replacing with the new/larger wire.

It turns out it wasnt the bare wire exposed it was just incredibly thin (like 22 or 20 guage) and the connector that bolts to the negative battery terminal was extremely corroded so I replaced that and the car seems to drive better, I think im still having other unrelated issues but the car feels more stable and it feels like the magnetic ride control actually works as intended ect. But after doing so I checked the scanner again a day or two after and a whole bunch of BCM related codes popped up. No idea if they are reoccurring or if they could have showed up when I was replacing it but here's what I got

B1529-03 FAIL SINCE CLEAR| HISTORY Control Module Voltage Reference Output LO Circuit - Low Voltage

B3867-04 FAIL SINCE CLEAR| HISTORY Right Park Lamp Control Circuit - System Internal Malfunction

B3867-01 FAIL SINCE CLEAR| HISTORY Right Park Lamp Control Circuit - Short To Battery

B1517-5A FAIL SINCE CLEAR | HISTORY Battery Voltage - Not Plausible

B270A-01 FAIL SINCE CLEAR| HISTORY Park Lock Solenoid Actuator Control Circuit - Short To Battery

C0890-03 FAIL SINCE CLEARI HISTORY Control Module Voltage Reference Output 3 Circuit - Low Voltage

Along with the other two codes i had before

MAASM - Multi-Axis Acclleratoo Sensor Module
U0121-00 HISTORY
LostCommunication With Electronic Brake Control Module
(Which shows up every single time I clear it)

U0422-71 (FAIL SINCE CLEAR|HISTORY)
Invalid Data Received From Body Control Module - Actuator Stuck
