coolant temp. goes up to 224 is that normal?

I see that my coolant temp. goes back and forth from 212 to 224, is this normal operating temp. ?

Yep….anywhere from about 200 to 225.

Just took a 4K cross country trip... My temps never went over 218degs and that was climbing steep mountains in the AZ heat.

Most of the time on the highway, it stayed steady around 200degs.

That may be normal if the A/C is not active to turn on the radiator fan(s). If the A/C is turned ON, that may not be normal.

Just went to 227 for a sec. then went back to 187 to 201. Should I worry now? it happened as I was turning in a parking lot. How would a shop try to fix this?
