i heard it was a 79 series not sure seems no parts store is really able to help looking for a walmart brand that will work i have never had a problem with walmart batteries so i dont mind generic batteries espcially when it comes to price...

any battery reccomendations is greatly appreciated thanks

The battery used in the Buick is special in that it has vent caps that are designed specifically for in-car (trunk or passenger compartment) use - the vent caps have nipples on them that vent tubing is attached to. The vent pipe goes to outside the car so you don't get any hydrogen gas buildup inside the car.

So you can't just use any battery (Costco doesn't carry any that will work either). I've got an Interstate in mine now, and it is about 1" longer than the stock battery so I had to cut the rubber strap that ties the two vent tubes together across the top of the battery.

kk do you remember what type of interstate you put in it and what was the cost

I picked up a battery at Advance Auto Parts that's a Johnson Controls made battery with the exact size and shape of the original with the quality I liked in the Walmart batteries made by Johnson Controls.

Walmart does not carry those batteries with the vents in the size needed. I shopped and compared and got the Advance Auto.

Only problem was they wouldn't put it in because it's inside the car under the seat. I had to do it myself at home.
