10 LaCrosse Backup Camera static

Hi Gang,
I have a 2010 LaCrosse CXS with ALL the bells and whistles. Occasionally, When I put the car in reverse, I get static/snow across the NAV screen but only when the car is in motion. So if I'm in reverse but not moving - No static/snow, As soon as I start moving, static/snow.

I just had the software updated because I had the "reset" problem and the dealer said the update would fix this too... it didn't. Anyone else haven this problem?

I've had the problem two times in 7 months of ownership. It was totally random. Happened once while backing out at the dealership (and then wouldn't happen a second time!), and I don't recall the location of the other time. It's never happened since then. My guess is something shorting out or interfering, just once in a while. If you can reproduce it on demand, consider yourself lucky and get the dealer to fix it. I could not do that.
 
It's happened to me maybe 10 times in the year I've had the car. I don't consider it a major problem, just a minor electrical quirk. I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts occurring with greater frequency.
 
It's happened to me just one time when the car was a month old. It's now about 6 mos and never seen this issue since. As Jimbo mentioned, I would not worry about it, unless it is happening very often. I assume this is some sort of software glitch that happens randomly when the electronics has to swith to the camera. Been pretty lucky here as this is the only electronic problem I have had since new, and only that one time. If it is frequent, by all means have the dealer take a look.

Sorry to hear you are having troubles with your camera. I would suggest taking it back into the dealership to have them take a look at it. Please let me know if you need help setting up an appointment, or if there is anything else I can help with.

I'm glad to see Buick monitors this site. It would be nice to have you guys setup a focus group of current LaCrosse owners to discuss some of our likes and dislikes. I've only been a member for a little while However, there are some great people on here worth tapping for ideas and experience. I personally have been involved with some of the LaCrosse marketing team. I won't say who I am but I am not a GM employee. Regardless, if you ever do put a group together please count me in as I would like to participate.

In response to your comment; The service manager at my local Buick is a great guy. He ran a second update on my NAV system that is supposed to address the problem. He also mentioned that some of the updates he had previously completed did not take. This time they are all good and he feels there should't be anymore problems. This all happened on Friday 2-25, so I'll keep you all posted.
