Hi I just bought a 1991 LeSabre Custom with about 120k on the clock. I'm 16 and this is my first car, but I wanna keep it a while because so far people like it and honestly I'm in love with the car. I have a few questions about making some changes to the car.
I have the standard cloth seats with the power driver side seat option. If I pick up some leather seats from say a 85-93 Deville, which is basically the same body, will any of those seats fit in a 91 Lesabre? What seats can I fit in my car?
I have the standard 0-85 mph gauge cluster with the electronic diagnostic system which is a piece of shit neanderthal system by the way. If I want to put a rallye gauge cluster in instead would I need different sensors and everything or could I just pop it in? Removing the entire dashboard IS an option I'm considering because the top layer is already detached a few inches from the windshield. but I'm curious what dashboards can be swapped into a 91. I'm hoping a Cadillac dash will. I definitely need to know what kind of tools I would need to dismantle the dashboard and put it back together.
I know the wheels are 215/65R15, so if I wanted to put say 16-18 inch rims on what changes would I have to make?
Also I'm having a problem with the radio, the front and rear speakers on the passenger side simply don't friggin work, could it be a wire? I think this will be an easy fix I just don't know a damn thing about fixing this type of thing yet.
Finally, besides slapping on a K&N cold air intake, what else can I do to squeeze a bit more horsepower out of the Series 1 3800, WITHOUT totally killing the thing or destroying it? Is there any compatible racing chips I can buy? I already know you can't supercharge a stock series 1, but I'm wondering if turbo is an option.(?)
Thanks in advance for all the help
