I have a 94 PA non-ultra. 250k. Shifts fine, sometimes 1st shifts a little hard when you hit it but not bad. There is no power, like when you floor it, hardly any response. New plugs, wires, fuel filter, coil packs seem fine, ICM checks out, no back firing or stalling. Doesn't really shake or sputter. I noticed if you BARELY hold the gas the rpms fluctuate a little bit, and you can feel a slight jerking motion in the car. PLZ ask any questions you need to, I'll try to answer them. I gotta get this car running right. I've barely been able to get it to go 60mph. I checked the firing order and their fine. IDEAS??????

It sounds like you may have a back pressure problem caused from clogged cat. Is the cat original? When you rev the engine in park and let off quickly, do you hear any noise from under the car that sounds like marbles rattling in a tin can? If you tap the cat with a rubber mallet, do you here any noise, or rattle sound? You may need to have a back-pressure test done.

I thought about that also. I just replaced the MAF sensor, and cleaned everything real good. Just now on the way home it was in Drive and it just revved up like it was in neutral on takeoff. shifted into neutral and back into drive and it worked fine. checked fuel pressure earlier also. stayed between 35-42psi.
The cat is probably original. How do I have it tested?

thought about changing the tans filter and fluid. I'm wary about this though. many horror stories.

Take it a muffler shop and ask for a Back-Pressure test? Have you checked for codes? You may have a bad TPS?? These things are not easy to diagnose from here! You need to find someone who can read ODBI codes & live data from a scanner.

That is an internal transmission input shaft seal problem with low fluid pressure to the clutch packs, not related to the original problem unless the trans is slipping most of the time.

When the plugs was replaced , was Platinum plugs used? With a waste spark Ignition they need platinum to last. With the Maf sensor replacement any chance of leakage around the sensor ? Have the back-pressure test done , also check if its drawning in air around the Maf area .Please keep us updated.

Good luck with your project
