I have a 95 Buick LeSabre 3800 with 158,000 on it. The tranny made a funny sound starting from a stop sign. I stopped at a station and checked and it was about a pint low so i added a pint and had no problems til the next day. It growled a little on the take off but then no problem so for the hell of it I checked it again and I was just a little low so I topped it off. Since then I have been looking for a leak (no tranny fluid on driveway) I've checked the cooling lines, tranny pan, and front axil seal not a drop anywhere . I'm stumped. Now when I check the fluid with the car running ( I'm a little low) but when I check it not running ( I'm about a pint over full) Any help from u guys would be appreciated as I'm on Social Security Disability and the don't figure car trouble into my monthly check. Thank you:headbang:

Doesn't sound like a fluid issue. If it makes any more sounds, see if you can find a tranny shop that will check it for free.
If not, you may have to pay $30-40 for a check.
Parts of the tranny wear out, but the engines will go 300,000 most times. The body and the underbody are the other things to figure into what to do.
Good luck and let us know what it turns out to be.
