Hello. I was wondering from factory new what brands tires did Buick put on these cars.

Not sure on OEM manufacturer but I really like the Continental True Contact tires. $540 for a set of 4

#2 Rated in Standard Touring All Season

The manufacturer will usually install the CHEAPEST tire they can. It's whoever gives GM the best pricing. Most OEM tires are mediocre at best.
Nice tires. I have a set of Michelin's (Defender) that I really got a good deal on. Continental builds some nice tires and you're right about the OEM's.

Those are nice tires. I've got Firestone affinity touring 15" whitewalls on mine they ride nice but are now discontinued. Can you still get the hankook option ww tires?

Goodyear Eagles went on park avenue. possibly these. If you go to your SPID label and you decode the tire codes you will find what your car came with

I would say Michellin Defenders or Symmetrys if they existed in 2005 era. no white wall

Also, the air pressure amount listed on the drivers-side door is reserved for the OEM tires. Once you change those out with a different brand, those pressure amounts can change. Buick LeSabre shows 30psi cold.

Most tires that size will have a tire that has a rating of 51psi max pressure (some will be 44psi). Here in the desert southwest, during the summer, an underinflated tire will overheat and can explode/disintegrate. When you run higher pressures, the tire becomes more stable and can handle higher speeds, loads, and higher surface temperatures. The load capacity of a tire is achieved at max tire psi.

So on my tires, I run 40psi cold (51psi max). I get better MPG, better handling, more high speed/high temp stability. The ride can firm up a little but nothing noticeable.

Remember the Ford Explorer and Firestone Tires debacle that resulted in all those SUV's rolling over back in the 1990's? One of the causes was determined that the tire pressure recommended on the door was seriously UNDERINFLATED. They called out 26psi on a heavy SUV. There were other factors at play but tire under-inflation will cause tire overheating and blow outs. Most of the blow outs happened at highway speeds with underinflated (26psi) tires and people got hurt and killed. The supposed reason WHY Ford called out 26psi was to help cushion & soften the ride.

When doing high-speed runs on a Corvette, the GM owners manual will state that the tire should be inflated to max hot pressure. Then once you are back to normal driving, you can lower the tire pressures. The point is low tire pressure is dangerous and inflating close to max psi pressure will NOT hurt the tire and is safer than under-inflation. When towing with a truck, max psi is run in the tires, as that provides the highest load capacity and tire safety.

Those 3 character codes are the RPO codes for the vehicle. They will tell you every option that is on your car. The RPO sticker can be located in several places, but the most common place is in the glove box. They can also be located under the spare tire cover as in my son's Saturn or under the console lid as in my Corvette, and in some rare cases under the back seat, but that's not too likely in a Buick. Here is an AC Delco RPO decoder.
Hope you find them. Cheers.

The rpo codes in mine is on the spare tire cover. I also had gm print me a build sheet for the car that tells me what day the car was produced exc..but I was just curious as to what tires came on the car when they hit the showroom floor. My 05 had general tires on them but I changed them to Firestone fr710s ww tires in 17'. The car only has 32 thousand miles.

My 2003 Celebration had Michelin symmetry tires on 16 inch rims. Touring Celebration model got Firestones. Later I replaced Symmetry with Michelin 80k mile, earlier version of the now Defender. Can't recall the name.
Recommend regular current defender by michelin. Avoid the defender H & T STIFFER tire.

Can't go wrong with Michelin. You'll get quality service, just rotate regularly. They stay round.

What's the difference between the two? I thought they were both separate packages and that both celebration and gran touring package cars had 16 inch wheels but with different wheels. Thanks. Nick.

Good points! Yes, I find the LeSabre's 30psi recommendation to be on the low side. (Think extreme comfort) I usually run about 38psi (Cold) in my tires without any negative effects. Yes, here in the desert, I see blown tires all summer long. Good post Sir!

Easy way to tell is the maximum inflation psi they used to be 45 but a lot are 50 and 55 now

I have great trust in those tires the Michelin defender believe it or not they discontinued the tire and I looked at the tire sales person and I said why did they quit making this tire was it too good? He just looked at me and smiled. I've had a total of five sets of Michelin defender now I'm having to get another Michelin tire equivalent specs. Have a great day Mr Reed.
