I watched a few videos on how to replace my lower ball joints for a 2000 buick century and I was just wondering if I would have to grind and drill out rivets or if that is only for some models and not others. I do not have the tools nor the patience to grind and drill out rivets and was just wondering if it would be better just to replace the whole control arm.

Yes, I believe you could do that. The lower control arm will already have a ball joint on it, ready to install. The difference in price is not prohibitive. Check if yours has rivets or bolts and nuts holding it on. Not all vehicles had only rivets from the factory.
