I have replaced numerous parts on this car pertaining to this issue. Including: Fuel pump, vent solenoid, charcoal canister, purge valve (multiple times) and hose, fuel tank pressure sensor, fuel pressure regulator, ICM, plugs, wires and coils, cleaned the egr and have replaced the crankshaft position sensor. Problem got bad enough it eventually caused my upper intake to explode. Was able to get it running again after replacing the upper intake and crank sensor but still wont start without feathering the throttle while cranking after putting any amount of gas in. Once its running its fine but every now and then at an idle it will start to sputter and die if i dont push on the accelerator. What else is left that im not thinking of???

Do you have a check engine light on?
If so, what codes?

Currently no codes or light, but i had to replace the battery because it sat for a week which killed it. no history codes either. but the codes in the past that it had were evap codes, cant remember which ones by this point.

An EVAP code would tie in with the problem. If raw gasoline is getting sucked in to the system when you fill it you would flood the engine.

but having replaced every part i can think of involving the evap system, what would continue causing said issue?

Looks like you have piranha's in the tank. Be careful. I was going to suggest hooking a pressure gauge to see if an injector was leaking down. Looks like you found it.

So do you know what this part is? if so then what is it so i can find a new one and replace it?

Looks like parts from the fuel pump assembly. What brand of fuel pump did you use?
I replaced the fuel pump with the precision brand from oriely. neither the old or new fuel pump had this part attached to it. Could it be something to prevent fuel leaking in the event of the vehicle being rolled over? Or some type of regulator in the filler neck?

I don't know....I don't think it's from the filler neck.

This is why I don't replace multiple parts all at once. If something gets screwed up it's harder to back track and identify where a mistake or a defective part was installed.

I replaced all these parts one at a time to avoid that issue. Still cant figure it out.
