ok so I need some outside advise before I completely lose my mind working on this car. it was given to my son by a friend of mine and it was running about a month before I went to pick it up. The original owner knew that it needed a new battery so I picked one up on my way to get the car. Put the new battery in and the car wouldn't start. after some investigation I found that the car wasn't getting fuel. ok easy fix right?!?! replaced the Fuel pump and filter, still no fuel. Replaced fuel relay and fuse, still no fuel. replaced crank shaft sensor because it was suggested and surprise surprise.... still no fuel. did some more looking into the situation and found that the fuel pump isn't getting 12v power. so I thought to myself.... run a direct power from a power source and see if the pump will at least turn on. (it worked) the car still wont start. I know that it is getting spark because it will start with starting fluid but die as soon as it burns off. could this be a problem with the computer or am I missing something stupid?

Please help me before I light this car on fire and let it burn to the ground.

Has this been scanned for codes? Might see a code for the crank sensor or cam sensor.

Sounds like you're missing fuel pump prime, and injector pulse. Pretty sure either of those sensors can cause this.

A defective new crank sensor? Crank sensor wiring? Crank sensor can be damaged if not aligned when installed, also check the vanes on the back of the crank damper if you can see them at all (if you find a damaged crank sensor).

Cam sensor can be bad, but sometimes the magnet falls off the cam sprocket. Magnet can be checked by removing the cam sensor, rotate the crank and look for the magnet through the hole for the cam sensor. Have seen a few posts where the magnet has fallen off cam gear.

Need to check for codes.

Security light does not flash while cranking the starter? Pretty sure security will cut off fuel as well. It did on the older VATS system. (1993 or so)

I did scan for codes but nothing came back. Im not getting the 12v power to prime or when cranking. I did check the veins on the harmonic balancer while I had it off to replace the crank shaft position sensor. I'll check the cam sensor this weekend and get back with you. Thanks for the info....
