Good evening folks, I've been reading threads all day looking for some help and have found similar but not quite the same problems.
My buddy has a 2000 LeSabre that the keyless entry system has quit working, not only that but the power door switches on the front doors don't work along with the interior lights. The panic button on the keyfob doesn't do anything either.

I've checked every fuse and relay under the hood and backseat and they are all good, there is a spot for a relay in the back in position #50 according to the f/b cover but there never has been one in there for the last 8 yrs.😕
This problem just started a couple days ago and is a pain in the a**.

I forgot to mention that after checking wiring diagrams in my Haynes book I'd appreciate if someone can point me in the direction of the Remote Accessories Control Module.

And you're sure the battery in the key fob is good, correct?

recently, I had to re-solder my key fob b/c the bracket that holds the battery and receives its charge had come up. might want to consider that. it's not too bad of a repair if you know how to solder carefully.
Hope this helps.

The key fob is fine and so is the battery, when you press the unlock switch on the fob the headlights and taillights blink but that's all. Hitting the doorlock switches inside the car don't do anything either.

It could be your Driver's Door Module (DDM) that has gone bad. To give you an idea of how complex the electrical system is on your vehicle, here's a list of the modules in the vehicle that talk to each other on the Class 2 serial data bus (note: some modules not installed depending upon vehicle options):

- Dash Integration Module (DIM)

- Driver Door Module (DDM)

- Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM)

- Head Up Display (HUD) w/UV6

- HVAC Control Module w/C67

- Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM)

- Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)

- Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM) w/CJ2

- Memory Seat Module (MSM) w/A45

- Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

- Radio

- Rear Integration Module (RIM)

- Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR)

- Remote Playback Device - CD Changer w/U1S

- Theft Deterrent Control Module

- Vehicle Interface Unit (VIU)

Take your vehicle to a GM dealer which has the scantool which will quickly determine what your problem is.

OK I was hoping not to hear that, since my buddy and I are both unemployed electricians we figured it might be something we could troubleshoot and fix ourselves.

AHA HA HA HA! That's so 1970s! 😀

I feel your pain. There is less and less (by design) that the owner can do on these new cars esp. when it comes to the electronics. Junkyard-swapping of these modules is not even possible because they have the vehicle's VIN permanently burned into the memory, and will not work if installed into a vehicle with a different VIN. Sucks fer shur!

Yeah, hate this complex class2 electrical system too. Can it be simpler. 😀

I guess the car won't be going to the dealer for diagnosis, they want $125 just to check it.
So swapping parts from the junkyard for sure won't work?

Wouldn't those door locks still need a relay? That's what I would be looking for anyway. If the owners manual doesn't mention anything about relays then I would be buying a Service Manual to study the wiring diagrams or follow the troubleshooting charts.

I've checked every relay and fuse in both fuse boxes, the Haynes manual is a joke as far as wiring diagrams and troubleshooting go, being unemployed makes buying a FSM a big expenditure since the extensions have run out. Anyone know where there is a FREE d/l of the FSM?

Your public library or one nearby may allow use of Alldata.

I'd call and ask.

Our local library is part of a county wide library. We share with adjoining rural counties. The other databases can be used from my home computer, but AllData charges them per computer. So it can only be used at a branch. I can save internet explorer pages (choose webpage complete under Save As) with all the graphics on a USB memory stick. I can print out pictures for a fee per page for printing. Earlier I saved the data on a diskette and took the graphics home for printing on my own printer.

I have a 97 lesabre that is doing the same thing. No int lights and no pwr door locks. Have you found out what the fix is yet.

Have anyone ever find out what was the problem with the interior lights power locks trunk button not working on a 2000 buic??k lesabre?

Someone here should chime in. I have read a few post where the door locks and sometimes windows wouldn't work and it was corroded connections under the driver seat.
