My 2005 turns off the low beams when the high beams turn on.

You should also be aware that the DRLs for 2000-2004 use the high beams in series so they burn at a lower output, whereas the 2005 (the last year of the series) were altered by the factory to burn both low beams in parallel.

While this will not affect how your lights work per your question, it tells you that if you want to get parts at the junkyard, you will be a step ahead knowing this.

the headlights are workign as designed . you can cheat and have all 4 on if you hold the stalk in "FLASH TO PASS" by just holding it toward you while driving. its useful in certain road situations and conditions like windy or up and down hills, for seeing more in the ditches etc
