there was recently one posted in my area with 100k miles and in pretty decent shape. it does have the rockers looking rough but that is a common problem. i hear that buicks in general are hit or miss so i just wanted to know if this would be a good car to last me atleast a few months without requiring alot of money put into it. im only looking for a commuter, nothing special

Nobody can answer that question over the internet without very detailed pictures of the vehicle and documents showing the maintenance history. Have the car checked by a local shop to determine if there are potential issues.

Many good replies on my thread regarding potential pitfalls.

The car runs and drives great. We replaced all the brake lines, fuel lines, and the lower intake manifold gasket. Plus we changed all the fluids and filters. We fixed the AC also. I suspect that with normal maintenance from here on out it will be reliable.

If the rockers are rotted, check the brake and fuel lines. Look underneath by the left rear wheel. They have either been replaced or are likely a hazard.

thank you for the link and you seem to have a wonderful family, i dont think my father knew too much about cars but did have expertise in home repair and improvement. anyway, that seems like alot of potential work with buying a used buick. the seller does have maintenance records and claims to be only a two owner car. besides the intake manifold, is there anything mainly i should look for?
