2003 le sabre
Hey folks, I acquired a very nice 2003 le sabre with very low miles. It was parked due to a blown air shock and a parasitic draw. I replaced the shocks with the monroe offering, and can manually inflate them by jumping the relay. The trunk release doesn't work, the compressor is not coming on, the interior lamp relay is being switched on continously (creating the draw). My question is do these rear integration modules fail partially? Most research I read says that all functions fail (lights, defogger, air ride, etc.) I really appreciate any input.
Thanks CRaig

Craig, I think I would suggest that you purchase a spare RIM (which can be had for very cheap). Here is one on Ebay for $29.99 incl shipping. Link
The good news is the RIM does not require the VIN to be programmed into the replacement module (a big plus).
In reference to can some of the functions stop working that are controlled by the RIM? I have not as of yet had one to fail but I do recall watching a You Tube video where some functions stopped working and a replacement RIM fixed the problem. I think at the end of the day, it will require a swap to answer your question.
If you haven't removed a LeSabre RIM yet, it's a little bit more of a pain than it should be because GM chose for the RIM mounting bolts to be accessed from the backseat side (vs. the trunk side). So, it will require removing the upper portion of the back seat.
