2005 Buick Allure Check Engine Light

2005 Buick Allure, made in Quebec. I have to buy Lacrosse parts in the USA. Have changed cadcon, 2 sensors upstream and downstream. CEL still came back on. Just went and bought a new gas cap, filled tank with highest test gas and added a fuel injector cleaner. Need that light off for NYS Inspection at end of month. HELP

I really wish that people would stop looking at codes as the end diagnostic. If you don't have access to the diagnostic procedure or the tools to complete it, take the car to someone who does.

Or at least come see me. I won't tell you what your code means but will happily sell you non returnable parts.

What we need are the auto manufacturers spit out the codes (and troubleshooting steps) on the in-car displays. The displays and controls are now good enough. There's no good reason a vehicle couldn't carry an onboard electronic manual. Hell anyone can follow a 1, 2, 3 list of steps. Can't they?

I keep my scanner and the list of codes in the car.

At least after looking at the code and its meaning, I know whether it is something super serious or not.

I need to get one of these. We pay nearly double what you guys pay. It seems as soon as parts/equipment hit the border the prices double. Time to take a road trip to Buffalo.
