2006 buick lucerne 3.8 stuck in second gear. And won't shift. No codes or check engine light

MAF, PCM, harness, etc it's a guess over a forum without data or being on site. Taking it to a professional transmission shop to at least get a proper diagnosis and procedure from there.

I did, I took it there first. They didn't find any codes

thats what we are saying tho, if they know what they are doing there is a lot more to be had than Just codes. I dont believe they really did anything because they would know it has a transmission computer separatre the PCM and different codes that may require canbus access to read(Im not sure on that part) and they at the very least could command it to shift to a different gear and based on it not douing anything and saying high pressure know that means something

I was in the car with the technician, and he tried to shift it with scan tool while driving. And it wouldn't shift.

I know but im saying that is a very big tell tale of an issue and it should be something eh can go off

Electronics will more than likely, mechanical would need to trip off some type of sensor.

Will they throw a code if there clogged
they should but it depends on the criteria for the code. But your behavior to me sounds more electrical in nature, which means most likely inside of the transmission(very little electronics left outside in 2006)

Can you do a fluid drain and drop on your pan? see if the TSB for magnets has been done, see if the lube pipes are installed, check for any damage, and also pull accumulator cover off and check the thermo-element

I dropped the pan and changed the strainer and fluid the other day. The magnet was still in the pan and had what looked like to be clear grease on

And did you have a rectangle or a circle
And was there one on your filter?
Any pictures by chance?

A good video on what you may be looking at, they cover the problem areas and part failures during disassembly

Had the same symptom on a Chevy truck. It was a failed Transmission Control Module (TCM). There was a code translating to "No communication with TCM."

That's the thing. Mine doesn't have any codes. From what I learned, my tcm is built into my ecm. So my question is, will that not throw a code
