2006 CXL Transmission Slipping

So recently I have noticed that my transmission is slipping more often. It mostly happens when I go reverse to drive and first will slip a bit then catch hard. Once in a while after taking a turn it also has a minor slip after getting out of second gear I believe.

Have anyone else had issues with this before? I just want to know if I may be on the verge of having it fail. I recently had a transmission flush a thousand miles or so ago because of this issue but it is up to 150,000 miles so is this a common thing for this vehicle because of the heavy weight of it?

I had similar problems in my '07 at about 160,000 miles. Rough gear changes and the like. When I would be at a complete stop and proceed to [attempt to] accelerate, it would slip for a moment and then slam into gear.
I had been downshifting on the column on a daily basis. The dealership told me that could have been what caused the problem.
Anyways, a clutch, they said, was worn out and that it would be equally economical to replace the entire transmission or to replace the worn out clutch. I think they told me a new transmission would cost something between $1,700-3,000 to R&R. I decided to purchase a used transmission (that matched the series III) with ~30k miles on it from a junk yard and have the dealership install that. The entire process cost me between $700-900. I'm thinking it was $350 for the transmission and $400 or so to have them replace it.

Flushing is not a good idea, it stirs up all the sediment in the bottom of the pan. Was the transmission filter replaced when the flush was performed?

Bit of an old wife's tale. Don't see how that is possible with pan drained (for cars with a drain plug) or with the pan removed on cars without a drain plug. That said, a flush is not really necessary, but a pan removal, cleaning, and a new filter IS necessary preventative maintenance. If the fluid is discolored a full flush IS recommended, however at that point transmission damage may well be on it way. Flushing is not going to fix what appears in this case to be a slipping clutch plate.

"old wife's tale"? Notice how in the basic service from AAMCO they do NOT drop the pan. You have to upgrade to the Power Purge Plus to get the pan drop. The average quick oil change place is the same story no pan drop.

Yep an old wife's tale. So what if sediment (if there is any) gets stirred up in the pan? It can't go through the filter anyway. Perhaps if a tranny doesn't have a filter, but in my experience, never have seen one without a filter. Also, I never suggested that the oil pan should be dropped for a simple engine oil change, so I have no idea why that was even mentioned. As for whatever AMMCO does, I am NOT interested. Dealers and other quick oil change places do the easiest and fastest thing they can do and charge as much as they can.
I am referring to what I have experienced and not passing on information from what I have read on the internet.
