Hello, i've got a 2006 buick lacrosse cxs. The when i press and hold the unlock to open the trunk, if no pressure is applied to the trunk (upward ie like trying to open) before i try to unlock it just makes a clanking sound (like 6 clu-clu-clu-clu-clu really quickly) then if you go back there and pull up a little bit, and try again it'll unlock. Any ideas?

Also since i have not owned this since new i have a question, when unlocking the trunk did the original struts fully open the trunk? or just pop slightly enough to fully open. Because if it is supposed to fully open i need new gas struts to open the trunk because it will stay open but does not open itself.

Any help will be greatly appreciated! 🙂

I own a 2006 Lacrosse CXL, and the trunk will just "pop" open a inch or so. I have to reach under the trunk bottom edge and raise the trunk lid. The struts will help raise the lid, but, not completely fully open. I have thought about drilling two holes in the trunk lid and attach a handle. When I Press the remote trunk button, I hear a "clunk or similar noise" when it opens. I bought my Lacrosse new, so, it may be yours doing the same as mine.

Thanks, for the answer to question 2, but the first question remains 🙁 i have to pre pry the trunk for the big unlock "clunk" to work, if i dont the clucluclucluclu noise happens and does NOT unlock (again without a pre-pry)

Sorry, Forgot to reply on the way you have to pre-pry the trunk lid to get the remote to work. Ok, here's a solution....that is hope it works. You no doubt have a trunk latch mechanism out of adjustment. So, lets try this. Open the trunk and take a screwdriver or something to close the latch that is on the trunk lid. That would be the part that has the clip that locks around the mechanism that is on the lower part of the trunk bottom. Take your remote and after you have put the latch in the lock (or closed position) press the button on the remote and see if the clip opens as if the trunk becomes unlocked. If it opens, then the bottom part of the latch mechanism is out of adjustment.
