2006 Lacrosse heavy leak under the drivers side dash when it rains.

My wife's Lacrosse has developed a bad leak under the dash on the drivers side. We had a new windshield installed about 4 years ago by a good local auto glass shop after a rock was thrown by a truck on the highway. My wife noticed the leak a few months ago, but it wasn't until she told me she'd have to take a towel out to absorb all the water of the floor that I actually took note and checked it. The windshield looks fine, and the auto glass company is a long standing, reputable 2nd generation shop that's done work for us before, so I don't believe that's the problem. It's kind of strange, because the fabric on the firewall is not wet. The leak is coming from somewhere aft of that.

What i did notice was the rubber that lays on the windshield, which downsizes to a small half inch (or so) strip across the rest of the windshield has 'warped' away from the glass surface. I can see down into the area below the windshield, so I'm guessing that's where the water is coming from, but i can't see what's down there, and I can't see where the water is coming from under the dash, since it wasn't dripping by the time I got out there today. Has anyone else had this problem, or does any body or glass man out there know where the source of the leak might be coming from? Thanks for any and all comments and suggestions. Lee

Take it back to the glass shop who installed the windshield & explain what you have seen & observed!

Took it back to Curtis Glass on Friday and he told me it was probably the driver's side post tube either clogged or disconnected at at fitting halfway through the post. I tried running a piece of tie wire down through it, which made it about 15" down. I also tried blowing it out with my compressor, and that's when I noticed water dripping from the bottom of the post's opening into the kick board area above the emergency brake handle. Curtis told me he'd charge me $50 to repair it, so I'm taking it to him Tuesday morning. Thanks for the replies. I still don't know how i ended up with a duplicate thread on this, though.
