2007 Rendezvous radio amplifier location

Can anyone help me find the radio amplifier on my 2007 Buick Rendezvous? Everything I read, including the chilton's online manual I just paid 15 bucks for says it's drivers side, knee height behind the panel. I have removed all the panels, and it is nowhere to be found anywhere on the drivers side ANYWHERE, so I started tearing into the passenger side, and cannot find it there either. I have the basic Radio/CD player w/ onstar an steering wheel controls but No XM or anything fancy, nothing aftermarket was ever installed.
