Hi all,

Looking for some help. Had intermittent electrical issues with the car, radio cutting in an out mainly. Now there is absolutely no power at all, had to use the key to get into the car. Ignition won't release the key once it is put in. I am on my second battery so I don't think thats the issue. We had a similar issue in the past and the dealer said it was a "weak Maxi-fuse."

Battery connections are tight and clean, it doesn't appear that any fuses are blown. But the positive terminal on the battery was hot to the touch.

Anyone hear of this before or have any recommendations?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! THANKS

Fuses either conduct current or melt due to an overdraw of amperage, they are never 'weak'.
Your hot terminal could be due to high resistance caused by a bad cable.
Do you have a voltmeter to test the battery?

I don't but I will take the battery to the parts store and have them test it. We had this same problem a few years ago and replaced the battery right away, but we had the same problem right after. Maybe just replace battery cables? I should also add that the fob batteries are good.

It's seems like this is related to you previous post on starting problem.

It may need to have a master technician that's able to look at all the past problems and repairs who can truely troubleshoot electrical issues IMO.

hey guys. when i jumped the car I connected the positive cable to the battery post and no luck. I then bypassed that small positive cable (about 3 inches long) on that flat fuse tray on top of the battery and the car got power immediately. I went to the dealership and bought the whole fuse assembly which included the 3 inch positive cable for 70 bucks. Car seems to be working now. Anyone else have a similar issue?

I know this is old post but are you still having the issue or did you set the car on fire by now?

They're BOTH gone for 3 and 5 years respectively. Click on their names to check.
