Has anyone else driving a new enclave been startled by the reflection of the dash housing the blue ambient light. When test driving i thought that the windshield was broken because i kept on getting a flash of light in the windshield. As it turns out it was the part of the dash that the ambient light sits in, reflecting the light from streetlights. Kind of plays games with your mind after it becomes noticeable. Also, any tall people try sitting in the 2nd row seats? Kind of uncomfortable with your knees up beside your ears. (over exaggerated but you know what i mean.) really like the vehicle compared to other vehicles i have driven....

Ive never experienced your reflection issue.

Are you talking about the 3rd row seating? The second row seems comfortable.

I am not talking about the blue light reflecting, but the light from street lights reflecting off of the plastic on the dash into the windshield. I am tall but my wife sees it too. ALso, i was referring to the second row seats. They are very low to the floor and feet sit pretty much parallel or above the floor due to slide rails.

It's kind of a turquoise.

I am glad i am not crazy... Now, anyone add heat elements to second row?

no but of course it can be done. I was tempted to add heat to the back (bench) seat in my crew cab truck. I was quoted right around $600 installed, aftermarket kit.

Did you open a call with Buick to complain or bring it to the dealer? I ask because they tell me no one is complaining except me. What a fiasco and waste of time trying to resolve this. Buick won't do anything until the dealer looks at it. The dealer says Buick won't do anything if its a design flaw. The dealer was nice but their hands are tied with no solution from Buick. That was after multiple calls and making arrangements for the manager to drive my car home. Apparently no one in any service dept works after dark to look at it. They basically told my I call call about having them buy the car back, at my expense of course. I told them I should video tape how dangerous it is and post to you tube.

Dangerous 🙄 lol I would not call this dangerous, annoying yes but not dangerous.

Have you covered your dash with anything to shield the reflection?

I haven't noticed any problems on mine....You can always turn down the ambient light if you don't like it...

Everything is a distraction while driving lol. If you really feel this is dangerous, then the you should either turn off the light or cover the dash. Have you done either of these?

I don't have my Enclave yet. But when i test drove it the reflection was there as we drove underneath the street lights. It is not the blue ambient light reflecting on the windshield, it t is the light reflecting off of the plastic below the ambient light that reflects. It almost seems as if the windshield was cracked when we test drove. I plan on fixing it by having a stripe shop add a small strip of matte vinyl onto that beveled edge to fix this problem.

That is exactly how I see on mine too.

If it bothers you that much take a look at the GMC, its a nicer vehicle anyway, and maybe there is no reflection.

That's a matter of opinion 😛 I tried to get my wife to look at the GMC but she was not having anything less than the Enclave. IMO the Enclave is the best looking Lambda 😀

Yeah, I know what you mean. My wife drives a 2013 Enclave (haven’t heard her complain about the reflection) and I drive a 2012 GMC Acadia. I like the handling of hers also, but in addition mine feels tighter.

You are not alone, original poster. I test drove during the day & didn't notice anything. I don't like the ambient lighting at all - feel like I'm in a cheesy limo w/ neon lights. If you can disable the ambient light on the dash why can the car not keep it off? Keeps coming back on next time you drive.

I notice that reflecting. It's almost like it looks as though there is a crack in the windshield & it's distracting. But I do love my car!
