- 2015 Enclave Convenience (FWD, Red, 116,XXX)
Hey guys, about a month ago my wife was exiting the highway and our 2015 Enclave (Convienence, FWD, 116,xxx) just died. Tons of messages popped up on the dash (Service airbag, service stabiltrack, traction control off, reduced engine power) the dash lit up like a christmas tree, CEL light, oil light, airbag light, TPMS light, etc. Now before the car dying I would have an issue sometime where the car wouldn't start the first time you'd try to crank it, but if you waited just a second and try again it would start just fine. I also had an issue where the car would start but the temp gauge would not work. The gauges do the sweep when yo start the car but the temp gauge would not move. There would also be no heat. This would usually be fixed by turning the car off then back on.
It wont stay running now. If you crank it maybe 5 or 6 times it comes to life for about 3-5 seconds then just dies out again.
Had it towed to the local mechanic closest to where it died. Changed the alternator and the passenger side top camshaft sensors. Still didn't fix the issue. If you keep cranking it enough, it will finally start, run for a few seconds, then die.
Had it towed to another mechanic closer to my home. They had it for a week, said the fuel pressure tested at 87psi and that something inside my engine must be broken. They said the valves might not be sealing or maybe the timing chain jumped a tooth. They told me they don't do internal engine work and I need to go elsewhere.
Finally sucked it up and brought it to the local Buick dealer. I avoid the dealer at all costs, and try to fix as much by myself as possible. Dealer had it for a few days, tore my interior apart and declared that it must be a bad computer. They said the computer is backordered, that i would need 2 keys to program it so i had to buy another key, and that keys, computer, programming, and labor would be $1600 and it could be weeks or months before a computer becomes available. This is why i don't like the dealer. I could have waited months and spent $1500 to learn that the computer wasn't the issue and i just wasted time and money.
Towed the car home, ordered a plug and play computer for $190, programmed my key and tried to start it and it still is doing the same thing. Crank it enough and it will finally start, but then die after a few seconds. Mashing the accelerator would make it run maybe a second or two longer, but still won't stay running.
These are the codes I have after installing the new computer and trying to start the car.
P0068 MAP/MAF Throttle Position Correlation
P00C6 Manufacturer Control (Google says it's Fuel Rail Pressure Too Low)
P0315 Crankshaft Position System Variation Not Learned
P0345 Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Bank 2
P0390 Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Bank 2
Thinking maybe fuel related, maybe even the high pressure fuel pump. Its run by the cam lobes and could explain the cam codes and fuel rail low code maybe. Not sure how the MAP/MAF code fits in.
Any help, ideas, advice would be greatly appreciated.
