Hi all:
I'm looking to do an oil change on a 2015 Regal GS 2.0L turbo for the first time.
Trying to figure out where to put my jack and jack stands on this car. I'm used to lifting my Impala by the front subframe below the radiator so I can get both wheels up in the air at the same time. I don't think I can do this on the Regal because the front subframe has some plastic shielding on it that would definitely break under pressure. Same goes for the subframe on the driver's side, which I saw suggested in a video on YouTube.
Unfortunately I can't find many online resources on this particular subject... so I've come here asking a simple question.
Both the owner's manual and the Chilton's manual suggest lifting from the pinch welds. But where do you put stands? The pinch welds don't seem big enough to fit both my floor jack and a stand under.
What is a suitable location for either:
A. Lifting the entire front end at once, so I can place jack stands on pinch welds
B. Lifting on pinch welds and placing jack stands... somewhere? I saw someone here suggested under the control arm bolt to the subframe.
Thanks very much for any advice!
