No real updates to my car, other than the fact that it's being agitated more often by having to drive up a hill every day for work. (Construction has closed my usual route.)buickBandit,
Eventually, you may give up on the thought of using all AC/Delco parts
as the parts become harder and harder to find.
I don't disagree, best to stay with AC/Delco if you can!
I ended up buying a Set of MSD Coil Packs for my 2015 Regal.
I've been very happy with them.
Got a Great Deal, bought $200 worth of Coil Packs for $100.
I did keep all of the old Coil Packs in case I have a problem!
My Coils weren't throwing any codes, but my gas mileage wasn't IMO
very good, so I replaced the Coil Packs, Plugs and VVT Intake and Exhaust.
I also replaced the Air Filter and Cleaned the Throttle Body around the
same time.
Seems like Gas Mileage is a little better, but I'm not sure if was worth
all the money spent or not?
The good thing about replacing all of these things is that I know where
I stand, I know what was replaced and when.
This is something you usually don't know when buying a Used Vehicle.
Don’t feel bad I get 17 mpg city and 18 highway..No real updates to my car, other than the fact that it's being agitated more often by having to drive up a hill every day for work. (Construction has closed my usual route.)
I am running a permanent trouble code of P06DE (Engine Oil Pressure Control Solenoid Valve Stuck On). Sometimes it throws a CEL, sometimes it doesn't. I grabbed one of those live read OBD readers so I can check some additional stats that I couldn't before.
What would you consider the threshold for gas mileage issues? I'm at 21 mpg average but that's with lots of high-incline, mountainous terrain on the weekends and my daily 5 mile commute around town. I sure like to hear the turbo, too, so I am sure that effects it.
I haven't had access to a garage so I'm overdue for checking my maintenance items. The previous owner didn't keep track of anything so my maintenance is a guessing game. I will get to digging more as soon as my main project is complete! My Miata is holding most of the attention these days.
