Buick Ownership
2016 Regal Turbo
Hi everyone!

I've had my '16 Regal turbo (fwd) for almost a year and love it so far... especially with an intake & Trifecta tune 😎

1 of the only things I don't love - aesthetically - is how bright/white the stock headlight/backdrop is, especially on a darker car.
So I've been looking for headlights with a black backdrop and found a few examples (links below) .... but am worried about spending upwards of $6-800 for what might turn out to be shoddy parts.

Anyone know of other options out there? Or would anyone recommend any of the options linked below?
Ebay option / AlliExpress option / AlliExpress option 2

(I know there are tint options out there, but I'd rather not struggle for hours with forming/cutting some cheap tint sheet lol ... couldn't find any custom-fit tint options really) - I installed similar dark headlights on my other car, a 2003 Pontiac GrandAm GT and am going for that look or darker on the Buick (pics attached)

Many thanks in advance for any input!

XPEL | Shop | Headlight Protection Film

I’ve has these on my other car for years and they hold up wonderfully. They’re not flimsy or cheaply made, but you’ve got to have a certain skill set to apply them, as shown in the video.

Cool - thanks very much for the info! What film/tint level do you have on yours (25/35/50)?

Check your state laws. My state (Illinois) made tinting the headlights illegal and people have been getting ticketed.. Anyway... I was JUST looking at those ebay headlights and wondering the same thing.... Considering it is illegal in my state to tint (personally it’s ugly and cheap imo) but not illegal to have black background it leaves not many options... But I really really need to blackout the chrome on the stock headlights (plus getting condensation) so it’s either go through the trouble of cracking open the factory headlights... Or like you, try and find a replacement that’s already black... I’ve gotten ebay headlights for other cars in the past and although they never got water in them the clear did “yellow” and haze over in a few years... wondering if these would do the same... Also... it seems that you’ll need to pay attention to how you order.. They have options for stock HID and stock Halogen... Depending on what your Regal came with..
