I was unhappy with the ride quality of my 2017 Buick LaCrosse Premium with the HiPer Strut front suspension and the OEM 20" wheels and OEM Bridgestone tires. I purchased a wheel and tire package from Tire Rack which consisted of 18" Sport Tuning T23 wheels and Vredestein Quatrac 5 235/50R18 tires for about $1550. The ride quality has improved tremendously. The new TPS sensors were easy to program with a $50 scan tools. The programing directions were in the owner's manual. For owners like me that prefer ride quality over handling, this choice is a viable option.

When looking for our used Lacrosse I did not even consider one with the 20" low profile tires after leasing a Malibu Premium with the 19" low profile setup. Unless you are testing the limit of the car on winding roads the higher profile and their better ride qualities are a better choice in my opinion. The fact that I have a spare tire which the Malibu Premium did not is a big plus. Overall tremendously happy with our 2018.

Yes, can be done for several reasons. Even a slightly larger tire can be used to make up for any speedometer discrepancies- or not. Sometimes a better more conventional tire that way is available compared to those summer driving only, soft compound, high cost OEM’s (other car lol).

To this ? T23 Sport Tuning Tire Rack Wheel ?
Unknown.webp We'd Love to see these on your '17 LaCrosse

Can you post some pictures ?

Larger wheels look great on most car standing still, it's the actual ride characteristics that can suffer in daily driving situations, that's for sure. Functionality over Looks really does take a precedent.

We rarely see aftermarket wheels on LaCrosses except for ridiculously large "Donk" wheels.

I have two sets of wheels and tires for my car that I swap back and forth for winter/rest of the year. The stock 20" with the OEM Bridgestones and a set of 18" factory wheels with Blizzak winter tires. I agree there is a noticeable improvement in ride quality when I put the 18's on, and that is even with winter tires. Some day when my 20" tires wear out, I may just stick with the 18" wheels year round and swap Grand Touring tires back and forth with the Blizzaks.

I am looking to do the same type of switch. Have you noticed any noticeable changes in the suspension or handling? Also have you noticed that winter traction was improved when you went to the smaller tire?

The ride comfort has improved dramatically. I have not noticed any degradation in handling but I am not an aggressive driver. Winter traction has also improved dramatically over the stock tires which were terrible.

Thank you so much for your response. One question, I have seen some reviews on the tires you purchased...Have you noticed excess noise over the Bridgestone tires on dry roads?

No. I am very happy with these Vredestein tires. They are an incredible value in my opinion
