I'm a new owner as of October 2021 and love my purchase. I was having bluetooth connections issues with a Samsung and an LG device. What I did to solve this problem was make sure both phones were paired to IntelliLink first and foremost. There's 3 ways the connection worked for me every time I needed it, hope this helps someone else who had this issue.
Car not started Method
Turn on bluetooth on the device prior to getting to vehicle. Next start the vehicle and when the IntelliLink center comes on, it should automatically connect to pre-programmed device.
Remote started method
Turn in bluetooth on phone prior to getting to remotely started vehicle. Once the engine is started with key in ignition, IntelliLink will automatically connect to pre-programmed device.
Vehicle already started method
Put the vehicle in park in a safe place. Turn on the bluetooth in the pre-programmed device. Turn the engine off and open the driver door. Turn the engine back on and the IntelliLink should automatically connect to the paired device.
