Buick Ownership
2017 Buick Regal
Hello everyone, I just bought a 2017 Buick Regal Turbo Sport Touring and I want to add a subwoofer system. My stock system does not have the upgraded Bose set up. I have the 7 speaker set up (4 door speakers, 2 tweeters in corner of front doors, and one speaker in center of dash.) I am quite educated on how to install a sound system in a vehicle and I know that I would rather keep my stock head unit and use a Line Output Converter (LOC) to install an amplifier. From what I have found so far, it looks like you may be able to tap into the front drivers side door speaker leads in the cab of the vehicle behind the hood latch lever near the floor (see pictures.) My question is, what wires are the ones I need? Does anyone know where to find out what color wire is what in that location?

You do not have two on the rear shelf?

No, in the rear shelf there are 3 holes. Im guessing 2 6x9 holes (or slightly smaller) and one maybe 5" hole for another speaker but mine does not have the factory speakers in that area. Intern making my project a bit more difficult..

The diagram of the 2014 with the color codes doesnt help?

Do you think they would have kept the same colors? I haven't checked this yet just due to the age difference.

And after looking at it the diagrams in that thread are a different set up.

Speakers (U65) (except CZ2) diagram which should be for the 2017.

Oh I see what your looking at, yes it seems easier now to work on the passenger side. I do see the yellow wire and the black and yellow wire. My LOC will show in the mail soon. Thanks for the help! I'll write back when finished to see if that worked.

There are some other posts regarding sound updates, can't recall what years they were working on, so you may want search this forum at least on installation and any issues they may have had during the upgrade, good luck on the project.

Anyone aware on the best way to find the speaker wires i can tap into? I cant seem to find the right ones. I don't have speakers in my rear deck.

did you ever figure out how to wire the loc? If so can you please help me out im having trouble trying to wire mines.

Well I’ll update a bit. I installed a 5 channel LOC. it was really easy with a loop back wiring harness from LLJ customs. It’s expensive but worth it. It also takes a while to make and deliver. It allowed me to install the loc and amp without cutting any wires. I installed 2 Rockville pro 6x9s with the 5th 2 ohm channel. Beware if you install an amp the chimes and turn signal will be crazy loud.
