Hi everyone,

I recently bought a 2019 Buick Encore with 76,000 miles on it, and I’m not sure if some of the behavior I’m noticing is normal. I’d appreciate any input from those more experienced with this model.

  1. When the car is in Drive, it doesn’t “creep” forward like most automatics. Instead, it just sits still, and sometimes even rolls backward if I’m on a slight incline. Is that typical for this vehicle?
  2. While driving, I’ve noticed that the car sometimes jerks a bit during gear shifts — not always, but occasionally. Is this something to be concerned about?

Thanks in advance for your help!

My 2019 Buick Encore Essence with AWD, the optional direct injection engine, and auto stop/start, has an automatic rollback feature. When active, a message is displayed. I'm not sure whether all Encore models have this feature. My Encore will creep, but not much.

I have the same model as the poster above me. Mine creeps lightly as well.

I've had it since new and the gear shifts can be a bit jerky sometimes. Especially 1->2 when cold. It hasn't changed since I bought it, so I figure it's normal.
