2020 Regal GS - missing "Sport Pedals"

Just want to see if anyone else has run into this - also a warning to anyone buying a new 2020 GS :
So I noticed that the sport pedals were "missing" and after a fight, got the dealer to install them on my new GS, just bought last week. In looking at pictures of many new 2020's on line, I notice that there are no sport pedals shown. This makes me wonder if GM / Opal Germany ran out of the sport pedals and decided to ship the last 50 or so of the GS's without them perhaps ? Something is going on. The dealer tried all sorts of statements to try to not have to supply them, but I stood firm. Any comments ???

The Buick site for 2020 GS states Alloy Pedal standard. What does your window sticker show?

So the Buick site and the dealers description in their web site does say sport pedals are included with the GS. I have seen them on the pictures of all GS until recently. The window sticker does not say that but there is not enough room on the sticker to show all the stuff that is included with the GS.

Hmmmm. Didn't get them with mine either. Thought it had to do with the package level the car came equipped with. Not sure. Some pictures submitted by dealers on their website show them, some don't.

So was yours a 2020 model ? The GS does come standard with the sport pedals - it’s not an option package - 😊

Yeah it a ‘20. Guess I’ll have to make an inquiry to the dealer.

My inquiry wasn’t addressed in my first email to the selling dealer and my second email went unanswered.
I haven’t been persistent.
Having a larger issue with the vehicle that my local dealer has delayed troubleshooting because of Covid19.

I also remember seeing sport pedals as standard equipment on the GS. Sounds like a standard GM move. Included in the selling materials but not included in what you receive. Much like the vaunted cargo slider gizmo (and spare tire well cargo tray storage IIRC) that was included on paper but not included with TourX Essence models.

Love my TourX. I came over from mostly Honda/Acura ownership the past 25 years. It's my first new GM (and my first GM past an old '76 purchased for book tour, man that wagon was a hoot) but the cool features the Buick bean counters skimped on vs. what it could've had and what the Opels, Holdens and Vauxhalls had is amazingly shortsighted. I would've gladly paid more for options like full-support thigh extenders (I'm 6'1"), cooled seats, no button blanks next to shifter, upgraded leather in the Avenir package, etc. For what I paid though, it's still a good value.

Does the GS have cooled seats?

I've been giving everyone the benefit of the doubt until such time as this pandemic eases up, including the more serious issue I'm having with the car.
What baffles me about the missing sport pedals is, aren't they supposed to be installed at the factory? If so, why would the selling dealer remove them? Or is the dealer supposed to install them?

Does the GS have cooled seats?

Yes the GS has cooled and heated seats - for both of the front seats 💺 and the thigh extenders you like. These seats have power side bolsters, and lumbar support in 3 zones with a power massage function - the GS has so many neat features, it would take 15 minutes to type them all. There are a few items missing like the hatch must be opened manually - but a great car overall.
I believe the sport pedals are supposed to ship with the car and be dealer installed, but as stated before, something happened and they have not been included near the end of the model run.

Not sure about if it should be installed by the dealer or the factory.
My wagon does not come with them.
Luckily, it is the same ones from the previous gen Regal that I had. It took less than 10 minutes in my cramped garage to put them in myself.

They should just slide on (if you use enough soapy water) over the existing pedals.

I would still like to hear from some more people that bought a 2020 GS - did you get the sport pedals, or did you get shorted ???

Update: Got them! Took a bit of perseverance but in the end I prevailed.

Selling dealer originally said if it's not on the window sticker, I am not entitled to them.

I was contacted by a Buick Proactive Customer Outreach Team member after I completed a Buick Satisfaction survey. They were calling to address other concerns I was having with the car. That's when I mentioned the missing sport pedals.

At first she couldn't definitively say I was due them. Until I mentioned Standard Equipment Number JF5 on the order guide (Thanks @BahamaTodd).

I was then contacted by a different member from the selling dealer and after a couple of back and forth emails and a picture of my pedals devoid of the sport type, they sent them to me.

The installation instructions say to remove the existing rubber pads from the brake and accelerator pedals. My accelerator pedal never had a rubber pad. Curious if that was also missing from the start.

The new ones went on quite easy and they look great.

The go pedal never had a cover to begin with. Just plain hard plastic.
The brake pedal on the other hand has a factory rubber cover so that our shoes will not slip off as easy if wet.

Good to know you got this figured out.

Funny thing is when I was shopping for the GS a few years ago, some dealers actually included the sport pedals as an extra cost option. That makes sense for the other trims, but obviously not for the GS since it already comes with them. I'm sure in some instances the dealer meant no harm since the GM system did allow them to order the accessory pedals not knowing the car came with them. But I'm sure several GS buyers probably got scammed paying extra for sport pedals even though the car comes with them.
