I'm highly doubtful that there will be anything made by GM sold in the US market that I desire when it comes time for my next vehicle purchase.

Same here. I need the practicality of my hatchback, but won't buy a crossover to get it. So at this point I'd be looking at maybe a GTI or Integra. I'll probably have to keep my GS for a while, which is unusual for me (so, lost sales for GM, since GM has been 90% of my purchases)

Most of peoples bought their extended warranty and include the amount in their terms, so this is a good opportunity for dealer to get interest charges.

Usually if a car is a lemon you will figure that out soon after you buy the car. Mine has been fault-free for three years so I won't be buying an extended warranty next month when the powertrain warranty expires.

Buick is a high end luxry6 vehicle in China, one of the reasons I think they have been able to survive is because of the Chinese market driving up the luxury in the buick. Infact I put a link below to a good insight into where Buick is. The US has no place for wagons anymore. Everyone complains there are no more wagons, well...your buying habits don't support em. My parents always had one wagon, but they prefer the taller crossover or suv now because they are easier to get into. Lots of manufactures are killing em slowly.

Buick doing only SUV and the then the regal, seems weird. But I think build quality is on par with all the other GM stuff. Nice for a few years, then the interior does not hold up. Door panels in my 2 year old 25k mile tourx are slightly lost at the top already, they have never been off. Some panels don't have great fit either around the console. The turn signal and wiper stalks are a joke. Don't grab the trim around the steering column accidentaly looking for the wheel adjustment lever, cause it will scare you how much it all moves lol

I have not experienced the kind of issues that you bring up and I would place my ‘18 GS very favorably with the Audi A4 and A5 models that I drive regularly at work. There are some things on Audis that I prefer and things on the GS that I prefer. After being driven for awhile on the roads of RI, they both have rattles. However, my V6 power plant wins every time in my opinion along with easy maintenance. Yes I’ve had some issues but they have been easily fixed.
On Google home page earlier this week there was a rerun of a March 2020 article about the GS that was honest - they placed it as a direct competitor to the three big German names that didn’t sell because it was a Buick.

Not sure what you mean by door panels being slightly lost at top. I have no issues about panels inside mine. But then I have a preferred version, so the lack of higher quality materials is not so much an issue for me. But then I paid many thousands less then the highly optioned model. I much prefer having the softer cooler cloth interior, then the hotter harder leather.
Give me a real station wagon based on a sedan, instead of the lesser performing high center of gravity crossovers.
PS We are hunkered down, good day to charge battery on TourX.

Since Buick already imports the Chinese-made Envision into the United States, there is really no reason that the Chinese-made Regal couldn't also be brought here.

GM would have to run the numbers to see how profitable it would be to do so. You'd think they would want there to be at least one stylish sedan in the GMC-Buick showrooms.

Communist China isn't very popular politically at this time so that would also have to be taken into account whether they would ever import the Regal.

GM even killed the Spark and leaving only the Malibu in the car department (not counting the Cadillac).
Why would they even think about bringing the Regal stateside (essentially a more upscale Malibu) just to shoot themselves in the foot?

Is the change to the LSY to bump up fuel economy? I know it's less powerful.

GM wanted to make sure when the Chinese bring them here they couldn't catch you in your Regal, and put you in a slave labor camp.
Sorry I am sure they would never do that.
PS At least I wont be bumping into the 130 mph speed limiter on my Red needle Safari.

I have no idea about the fuel economy on the LSY. Only thing I know is that, unlike our LTG, the LSY does not have the premium fuel recommended thing. That means it feeds on regular.
If you want to know how it drives like, try it on the XT4.

Last I read it was delayed on the Equinox but maybe they ended up killing it completely.

When you compare a car like the tourx after a few years to something made in Japan or higher end German cars (yes I know this is an opal but it's still GM). The build quality of the interior and materials used is just not as good. Panels will not be a tight, fittament of plastics, even from new are not as good on GM vehicles, things will make more noise over time. This has just been a fact of GM vehicles for years. Not that other manufacture don't have material issues, but overall GM interior quality is middle.od the road, even for their high end cars, because they all use the same materials. And my car is a preferred, but that doesn't matter. All the interiors are the same fro the most part on the tourx. Don't forget too Buick is second to Cadillac, which is top of the line.

Seems now that Buick has no cars, I think you have to say Buick is now third in GM behind GMC and Caddy.
If Hummer was not a GMC, Buick would be lumped in with Chevy as the runts of GM's litter.
PS I assume you know Opel has not been GM for years.

Agree. While I really like my TourX and it is very easy on the eyes it doesn't have a very solid feel to it and the interior materials are Chevy level at best. Fit and finish for some body and interior panels are just kinda meh. It might be able to go high miles if the mechanicals and electrical hold up but it just doesn't feel like a car that will otherwise stand up to ravages of father time very well.

Yeah leather in Essence TourX seems much less durable then what they call kangaroo leather in G8 GXP. Turn signal control is probably borrowed from Chevys high end parts stash.
