I live in Ontario Canada and I'm giving my Buick 2012 Lacrosse to my son however during the safety inspection they found the center brake light not working.
I thought that it would be a simple bulb change and decided to do it myself. I did a little research and found out that I have to pull apart the rear deck, remove the speakers and a whole bunch of other stuff just to get at it. I also discovered that the problem could be in the wiring or the brake light switch by the brake pedal. I would appreciate any info about the wiring to this light such as color and location so I could test the wiring to see if it's the switch or light. Thanks Harlow....

If only the 3rd (center) brake light is not working, I think that you can rule out the brake light switch which triggers all the brake lights. The LaCrosse uses an LED bar for the 3rd brake light, it may be an issue in either the wiring or the LED light bar circuit (I would suspect the LED bar has an issue). If you find power is reaching the LED bar, the LED bars are available on Ebay in the $65-$100 range. As for accessing it, here is a You Tube video that you may have already saw.

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping to access the wire that goes to the 3rd brake light without opening up the rear deck, that's why I was trying to find out the color and location of the wire to the light. I imagine that it would be somewhere in the trunk or behind some trim.

It would be interesting to learn what is failing in these LED bars because viewing content on the web, they appear have a notorious problem. All of my incandescent ones are working fine. One would expect the LED one to outlast the incandescent ones.
