3rd gear complete failure in base 98 park ave

The 3rd gear just went out but it’s not over heating or has any issues starting. I’ve heard I need a new transmission but was curious as to what you guys think. Don’t want to throw that much at this car if I can find another Buick in better condition. Thanks

Ah shit. Well thanks man. My only question now is how long until the tranny dies. I’m trying really hard not to go past 2500 rpms cause yeah.
