89 Riviera needs help.

We have an old 89 Riviera, It rattles when idling and stops when we accelerate and we just replaced the power steering pump, didnt solve the problem so im pretty sure the harmonic balancer is bad. Anyone thoughts or does anyone know where i can find like a guide or a walkthru. never done one before. thanks.

Welcome to the Buick Forums! Sorry to hear your Riv isn't working.

I suggest you sift through the more active forum sections for the LeSabre and Park Avenue since they have the same engines.

it is the tensioner device pulley i would take it to the shop it not a big repair. it sounds like the rods knocking when the car is at idle.
