My 91 lesabre has some rust from being a ny car and I've come across a problem, on the driver side where the engine cradle bolts to the body it has rotted out, one bushings in space and the other is still attached but the steel is tearing. I've stopped driving it until I can fix it. I plan on cutting the rotted stuff out and welding in new material but I need to know what thickness is used so I can get new metal.

Because the cradle is fine, it’s the back on the body side that’s got to be repaired.
Where is the "back on the body side" located, passenger side, drivers side, or the front middle, or rear of car? You have any pics to help us??

I do have pictures first picture is what I'm trying to fix, second picture is what it should look like. For location purposes this is directly below the firewall.

A good video addressing what you want to do. Not sure it's worth it on a non- valuable 35yr old car..
