94 Roadmaster looses all electrical power while driving

HELP, I have a 94 Buick Roadmaster that has a gremlin. While driving down the road the car will shut down completely. No electrical power. Can't even put on the emergency flashers. Zero electrical power to entire car. The last time it happened I turned the headlight switch on so that I could get out and open the hood to do a wiggle test on the cables and see if lights would come on but before I could get the hood open, all the power came back on and I started the car and drove it home with no problems. I use this car to transport my 90+ year old parents around so I need to figure this out. Any help would be super. Thanks, Chuck.

I'd start with the battery connections. Take them off, clean them real well. Also make sure you have a good clean tight ground to the body. Do the same with all the positive cable connections.

Chuck anytime a 94 has strange electrical problems, the first thing you check is the auxilliary battery post. It's located by the fuse box, passenger fender. If your's is zinc, it needs to be changed to brass.

Is it where the positive battery cable attaches to a small plastic covered box with relays or fuses on the passenger side wheel well? and covered by a plastic cap? If so, mine doesn't appear to be brass and it's dull looking like zinc. What exactly do I need to change to brass? The stud that the cable attaches to doesn't look to be replaceable. I really appreciate your help with this, it's had me stumped and the car needs to be ready to roll for my parents.

You've found it. It may not be your problem, but you definitely should change it, as they have been known to melt. I'm sure dealers can get them, autoparts stores also.

Follow CarbonBlack's advice also, check all connections.

Turned out to be a faulty connection where the positive cable attaches to the black box on passenger side fenderwell.
