Lucas is good stuff, got me out of a bind more than once. Not always works but worth a try. Sorry it didn't work out but sometimes it's smarter to junk the old car and buy a better one. You're probably looking at $1200+ transmission job and then whatever engine work you need. Plenty of nice PAU's out there that don't need such co$tly repairs.

I change fluid & filters every 30K, and use Amsoil full synthetic trans fluid. In addition, I installed an external fluid filter and cooler with a fan. I now have over 200K and the trans performs much better than when it was new.

That looks even better as new !
Is the Amsoil full synthetic similar to Dexron VI, or how is it better/different?
