96 Regal:

The doors will lock when I shift the car into DRIVE, but the doors will not unlock when shifting back into PARK. Pushing the lock/unlock button work fine, so all the locking mechanisms in the doors work.

Just didnt know if anyone could suggest what to check or replace to help fix this issue?

Thanks!

Did you just get this car and in the time of ownership did you always have this issue? Or did it just start happening? If you have always had that issue then the problem is just that the old owner had the auto unlock disabled so that it did not unlock when you park it. Not everybody(me included) wants to leave the car when I park it or remember to re lock the locks

I am not sure if this is a dealer scan tool job to reset the auto locks to default or whether you can do it your self? On my 2005 Lesabre I could do that but it had a Driver programmable set up. On my Ford, Hyundai or Scion I have owned it was only able to be set at the stealership

You safer with having tha doors stay locked when you stop...lessesns tha chance of someone rolling up on you & yanking you out tha car.

My mom and dad were the previous owners and mentioned that there was a repair on either the driver side door or window (its been a long time since the repair he couldnt remember which) and the doors used to unlock when shifting into Park previous to the repair. Since then, they've just used the manual unlock button.

I highly doubt anyone would yank me out of my car to possibly use as a getaway car, lol. Im just glad the car runs.

After some research, i found this image of the manual. Ill check out the fuse and see what happens.

Thanks.

Update..

I checked the fuse for the LOCK CONTROL option and the fuse was perfectly fine, so thats not the problem.
