My '96 RMW has been throwing code P0441 since I replaced the engine. It is throwing this code entirely because I don't have the evap hoses hooked up.

My question is this - is there a Roadmaster evap diagram I can reference, or can someone give a brief description of where everything needs to be hooked up? I have the FSM, but can't seem to find anything to show me where they go.

Thanks in advance for any help.

To clarify, I have the connections between the throttle body and the solenoid hooked up, and have the short hose between the solenoid and the switch. The sticker on my rad support indicates that the other two openings on the switch are for an open vent on the bottom, and the other to the charcoal canister. Now, this is where things get interesting.

The charcoal canister has a bunch of hoses going to it. I can trace one back to what I can see is a hard line, which I believe goes back to the tank.

Another goes from the canister to a hard line which turns into a plastic tube in the engine bay. This is loose and open.

Last, is a larger rubber hose which goes from the charcoal canister to a plastic T fitting, and both those ends are open. One has a plastic inline coupler on it. The diagram I have on the car and one I found online shows none of these extra tubes and hoses in them.

My assumption would be that there needs to be a hose which runs from the switch port pointing to the front of the car to the loose hose on the charcoal canister, which I can do if I get a longer hose to replace the end coming out of the canister.

That strategy leaves me with the plastic tube and an extra length of hose off the rubber hose to the canister. HELP!

That's the one that's on the radiator support. I think I may have figured it out, however. I'll post everything I found in trying to solve this problem. Perhaps it will prove useful to someone in the future.

This showed me what the ports on the canister went to. That was the biggest problem I was having.

This shows the generic routing of the evap hoses on an F-Body LT1. I've found the B-body to be different, in that the canister is on the other corner of the car, so it's routed differently.

For some reason, my fresh air inlet on the canister had a hose on it with a t-fitting and another hose sticking out of that. All the diagrams I saw didn't even show a hose on that port. I took off the t-fitting, but left the initial section of hose, just to get the fresh air inlet away from the canister.

The plastic tube I referenced previously in my post turned out to be hooked up to the purge line, so I hooked it up to the purge port on the switch.

After these changes, The car has run without throwing the code again.
