They may not be expecting a
Cadillac CTS-V, but what about the new
Cadillac ATS? I have been bouncing back and forth between a Regal Turbo, Regal GS, or a LaCrosse. But now I think I am going to wait one more year and see if the
Cadillac can bring what I want. From the rumors going around it seems as if the base model ATS will have the same 2.0l Turbo as the GS, some say it may be tuned downed to 250hp but most believe it will have the same 270hp. Also it will have the 3.6l engine as an upgradeable option. Oh by the way the ATS will be rwd with an awd option thats pinning the new alpha platform for GM.
From what I gather it will have a starting price of around $32k, I am guessing with some options and awd it will be about $38k-$39k. Thats Regal GS price territory with rwd/awd and the same engine.
I just dont get why the Regal GS can't have awd? Its not going to cannibalize sales of the ATS because it will only match the base ATS model. Also 2 different body stylings and interiors and option. Your talking about a loaded top end version of 1 car being equal to the bottom low end version of the next tier up car.
With those options I am leaning toward the ATS, however if GM did the right thing and added AWD and/or RWD to the GS and the only thing to differentiate the base model ATS or GS I would take the GS because I like the styling better.
