Today my ABS and Traction Off lights came on randomly in my 2004 Buick Lesabre. Neither have ever come on before. I got the rotors, brake pads, and one wheel hub replaced a little over two months ago, took the car back about three weeks ago because the brakes were squealing something awful, but working fine. Now, this happened.

The weird thing is, if I turn the car on, the lights stay off. If I'm in reverse, the lights stay off. It's only when I shift into drive that the lights come on. However. my braking has been just fine otherwise.

What in the world is going on here?

The ABS sensor is inside the hub. The two pigtail wires coming out of the ABS sensor are very
small and fragile. I'm betting they damaged one of the pigtail wires while installing the new hub.

I had a broken pigtail wire on my 2000 and the ABS light would come on from time to time. The wire
wasn't completely severed, but several strands were broken. I discovered the broken wire while
replacing the axle shaft on that right side. I repaired the wire, and the ABS light hasn't come on since.

I know this is an old thread, but I am having similar problems with an 04 Lesabre Limited. The car has all new bearing hubs due to mileage. The ABS and Stabilitrak light only comes on after starting to move forward in drive. I am going to get the system scanned soon to verify the code. What part number for the control module goes with the JL4 stabilitrak package? I show 545-01960.
